[MLB-WIRELESS] PCMCIA Problem

Laptop: Compaq Presario 1260
OS: Windows 98 (Also tried Windows 2k)
PCMCIA Controller: Texas Instruments PCI-1131 CardBus Controller

Problem:

The driver for the controller installs fine.

In Windows 98 under control panel you have a PC Card (PCMCIA) option. No
matter what PCMCIA card you plug in the socket it doesn't detect it.

In Windows 2000 you dont have this option under the control panel but in
Device manager the drivers are install for the PCMCIA controller. I've spent
a day trying to get it working and searching all over the net and still
can't get it to work.

I have checked the pins inside the socket and they arent beant they are
straight.

Has anyone had the same problem or know what I can do.
