Ah feature creep now, corba back end with java on the side,
muhahahahah!!!!
You may find it hard to validate a phone number unless you actually dial
the thing and you
will hurt those without a phone.
TIB needs a way to identify that a transaction has occured.
This is hard, banks don't give a transaction number on cash deposits into
an account.
Not everyone has a credit card.
I think that this is also process issue for the organiser, purchases
should not occur unless the
organiser has been paid up front buy the requester.
If the organiser cannot uniquely identify the recipient then don't order
the product.
The person will soon learn to provide all relevant information when they
get nothing.
The organiser should not be going out of his way to satisfy difficult
individuals.
They are not paid for this, they don't have to put up with it.
I really think this is a job for the club organiser people as they are
getting the treasurer
and secretary roles in place. This would be a role the club could
undertake to maintain an
EBAY account, and to provide a mechanism for non card holding individuals
to check their
cash in somewhere.

On that note,
I have been throwing around the idea of having a phone numbers as
manditory on TIB.
What are people's opinions on this?
Fenn.

I can assure you that most people who have not organised their own bulk
buy yet have no idea whatsoever, the amount of stress their
unco-operativeness with payments puts on the organiser.
It's a good idea to get contact phone numbers from people for BH and AH
so that you can ring and abuse them rather than having to wait for
someone who only seems to check their email once a month and expects to
be able to pay you off with weekly 50cent installments for the next 216
years.

(*aside* Honestly, I don't know whether it is because this is an email
forum, but plenty of people here seem to be very very slack with paying
up and responding to email. And I thought I was tardy! *sheesh* Roll
on TIB - I have not had an extensive look, but can I suggest a feature?
set a feature that allows you to count (only?) those orders that have
been paid for. I have reached the conclusion that this is the only way
to get a certain figure of how many people are actually in an order.
And as I am sure some here will testify, returning someones money is
less hassle than chasing them for it or trying to sell excess stock)
