My point was that wireless networks are likely to be discontinuous prive
networks, so if roaming was desired over a wide area, some means of linking
these discontinuous networks into a carrier netwoek would be needed.
Obviously, these links could be wireless, but if distance or terrain doesn't
permit this, VPNs over broadband are the next option.  As for speed, well,
if the carrier route between your home network and where you are is over a
modem, wouldn't your access be slooooooooow? (speaking as someone who now
finds 128k ISDN "glacial" :) ).

Otherwise, what's the point of having a mobile IP for discontinuous
networks?  Just having access to a DHCP server on each network would suffice
if that's all you wanted.

And yes, you would need the mobile IP router, no argument there.
