i was thinking the same sort of thing, but since the network seems to
be a bit segregated, i was thinking of having sibling DNS servers in
each major segment, so basically, if you cant reach one, you hopefully
would be able to reach one of the other ones, and if not, you can get
the host file pretty easlily as previously thought
