Howdy all,

I've had the opportunity to play with the Cisco Aironet 1200 series AP (dual
mode!) and AIR-CB20A cardbus 54Mbit NIC. The gear uses frequencies betwee
5.180GHz and 5.3(something)GHz depending on channel.

I did some speed/range tests - around 2.5Mbyte/sec when nearby the AP (about
20cm) - as we already know, 802.11a does NOT like walls, however, I did get
a fairly decent range (better than I expected) for about 50-70 metres before
I lost link. Didn't do any speed tests, but the Cisco tool reported a link
speed of 54Mbit/sec still... This was line-of-sight, about 30cm worth of
brick at about five metres is enough to lose link entirely.

Should get some real measurements soon.
