Harman,
At this stage the network is still in it's development stages. There are
little pockets of nodes popping up about the place. Every little bit counts
because of course once people see it working, they want to connect to. If
you were to link to your mate, and another mate found out another block
away, he could join in too, and so on. Eventually someone linking to you
will have a line of sight to another access point, and he can be used to
route traffic between the two, sort of doubling the amount of connections i
spose.
Personally my connection isn't up and running, however I will be linking to
a mate about 250m away where we will be setting up an access point because
he has a good view of surrounding suburbs. From there I know of a few
people who could theoretically connect to us and probably would, from there
I know of other people who we could link to via other people.
As I said it's a progressive thing that will slowly grow. You've really got
to have faith and foresight to join in :)

Thanks for the reply Ryan.
Well just got another few questions :P... well if i do this as you say with
a mate, then its only me and my mate and thats it the network ends there.
What i amw ondering is are you guys who are neck deep in this have a network
going that i can plug into ( provided that i can find a good node around me
) ?
Well once again any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Harman
