Very much so.

Real world throughput of 11Mbps 802.11b gear is ~600kB/sec.

  Subject: [MLB-WIRELESS] Access Point Question

  Hello All,
I have found myself an Access Point, a compaq wl400, the thing is it only has a 10mb/s output on
the ethernet connection. I was wondering is this sufficient enough to run as an access point for my
  area ?
The specs can be seen here : http://www.compaq.com/products/wireless/wlan/wl400-specifications.html
    Thanks very much,
         Cameron
