How about getting one of them to set one up on one of their towers?
I know of two local CFA stations that seem to have a large view of their
surrounding areas.
I'm not sure if they'd got for something like this though.

Well I should be able to get a pile of old 2.4gig directional antenna's
that
used to be used at the fire stations to recieve the fire brigades own TV
station that is broadcast in 2.4ghz.
And they've offered their geeky knowledge to me if i need it.
