Hi Greg,

5ghz to JEE would definitely be an improvement, but it would also
potentially open up KVC, KHI and KKE to you as
alternative/additional uplink options.

All of those nodes are running Ubiquiti AP's so would require
Ubiquiti clients (e.g. PowerBeams), however KKE also has a Mikrotik
802.11ac AP as an additional option.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Hi. As the owner of JOH I can confirm a significant loss
between JOH & JEE on 2.4GHz. I have had a fiddle with this
link and have good RSL, but the noise floor locally has
definitely increased recently and this old 7+yr old link is due
for replacement ( 5GHz me thinking!)

Hi Richard,

I can hit you from node KFI (Geelong also), but looks like there
is a
fair bit of packet loss between (I'm guessing) JEE and JOH on
2.4ghz:
While the 2.4gig waveguide at JEE blasts out a fair way,
performance is
very limited due to the amount of noise it picks up, as well as
hidden
node issues with lack of TDMA (such as Airmax or nstreme/NV2).

Also if you're seeing over 200 OSPF routes in your routing
table, that
means the Geelong<>Melbourne connectivity should be
working :)

Cheers,
Andrew.
