Send me an email, I've had an ADP for about 6 months
Its pretty easy to root them but if your not worried about loosing data, you
can always just use a jesusfreke firmware flash which is pre-rooted,
Try the xda-developer forums for help,
Or the g1 hacker mailing list

Yeah install the latest firmware, which you can't do until it is rooted.
