I never said or implied that the TV Transmitter was 802.11, just that it 
operated on 2.4GHz

sure i agree that those levels of RF a hazadous to your health and thats why 
the ACMA adopted RF exposure limitations.

Only a few weeks ago i had a conversation (SSB voice) on 24GHz, full 
quieting signal, well over 100km using a 1w tx and a small 60cm dish with 
about 30db gain. approx erp. 1kW plus.
Pretty amazing really.

When Watsonia barracks was in operation that 10m dish was running 1kW+, freq 
was between 2GHz and 10GHz
