I would agree. An WRT54G, uses about 3W on average - so 72 Watt- 
hours. Of course more powerful radios will use more power - but a  
fully fledged Desktop PC (like the old Celeron 800Mhz by my feet uses  
just on 22 Watts/hour.

So for a WRT, you need something to charge up a battery which can  
hold 72 Watt-hours for three days. Plus if your using Lead Acids for  
your batteries you don't want to go below 50% charge.
