OK, I've now got nodes GPQ and JQL configured to use this version of the
Freifunk firmware and when I connect to node GPQ over the LAN ports
(configured via DHCP) I can see that they learn about each other via OLSR
quite happily.

However, when I try and connect to them via wireless I cannot persuade either
of them to DHCP me an address.

Given previous form I'm sure it must be something I'm stuffing up, but I've
just reflashed GPQ with a firmware recreated from the page and still no joy.

If I use Wireshark to dump the packets on the interface I can see the DHCP
requests being broadcast to 255.255.255.255 from my laptop and the OLSR
announcements from the APs going to 10.10.255.255, but the AP's don't respond
to the DHCP requests at all.

I've enabled SSH and logged in and can see that dnsmasq appears to be set up
for DHCP correctly, so I'm out of ideas..

Anyone got any clues ?

cheers!
Chris
