Hey everyone,
I've been tinkering with wifi aps and vpn tunnels to provide security.
the way i set it up was this...
[ap]----cat5----[winXP pc]------[LAN]
the AP is on a 10.0.0.x subnet, as is the untrusted interface on the xp
box. the untrusted interface is firewalled so that only vpn can come in.
ip routing is enabled (via registry change), and the internal (LAN)
interface is on a 192.168.x.x
its working beautifully, the only hitch i had was that the ap wouldnt
provide dhcp services to the wifi clients. fixed this by running dhcp on
the xp box. i ended up using a time limited demo of a dhcp server as i
couldnt get ics to work the way i wanted it.

anyone know how to hack up the xp ics dhcp to give out 10.0.0.x
addresses and not do any NAT?

oh and by the by is anyone else on this list getting sent Win32:Netsky-D
virus? I am and i dont know where it is coming from. (i know the ips but
thats not really much help)

- Nathan
