Hi,

After my long explanation of PoE yesterday I must admit that for simple
one-off homebrew jobs, Power-Over-Wire is probably a better option.  You
can use the original power supply that comes with your AP or Router and
with reasonably heavy figure-8 cable.  Power-over-ethernet is convenient
if it's already a feature in a piece of mass-produced gear that you've
bought, but if you want to add a remote-power feature yourself, PoW is
going to be a lot easier, and a lot cheaper.
