[MLB-WIRELESS] Equipment find...

If I recall these beasties, they are hubs, not switches... and only 10 meg
ones at that. They only become a switch when you add an additional switch
module, and even then I think you only end up with 4 switched segments with
about 6 ports in each segment, not 24 individual switched ports.

In this day, unless you can get by using a noisy, 2RU sized 10 meg hub for
very little money, it is almost at the point that you should be taking them
all on a trip down to the local marina.

The security led means that someone has done a network SNMP scan or
something from an IP address that is not configured into the switch I think.

Save your money for something smaller and faster.

Hi People,

I have found, although not yet in my possession, a number of "Switching
Hubs".

A HP J3202A 24 port switching hub.

Condition is unknown, although the one I bought appears to work? The
"security" Led flashes which means some intrusion was detected before being
taken out of service and has not yet been reset, according to the manual?

Anyway,

Before I go and get the lot, are these of much use? And is anybody
interested in one or two? The price should be *very* good although I have
not spoke to the people concerned on a price should I take the lot, around
20.

Let us know your thoughts.
