[MLB-WIRELESS] POE for SVEC AP

Hi Jamie,

In my AP box I've put a voltage regulator kit I got from Jaycar:

http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KA1797&CATID

Basically it'll regulate any voltage from between 24V to just above the
desired voltage, down to the desired voltage. It won't regulate voltage up
though. But it will protect the AP from a relatively high voltage should I
want to change the CAT5 cable length. For my power supply I use the 7V DC
supply I got with my digital camera.

Also, re the crosstalk Rob Clark talked about, I'm not sure there would be
any crosstalk from DC would there? A constant DC voltage generates no EMF,
as far as I know anyway. I've thought about running a (in this case) low
voltage AC (12 or 24 volts) up the CAT5 and putting a transformer and
rectifier in the AP box, in which case I suppose crosstalk might be an
issue. In any case running the positive up the "solid color" conductors and
the negative in the "white" conductors is good practice. It's not too much
trouble to change the pinouts on the krone blocks.

Dan
