If you have redhat, add this to your /etc/fstab and make sure you start 
netfs at boot
//192.168.1.1/matthew /home/matthew/vb    smbfs 
uid=matthew,gid=matthew,username=matthew,password=asdf 0 0

If you don't want your password in there then you can't mount it 
automatically (unless you remove the password from 192.168.1.1 and use 
the guest option).  See man 8 smbmount for available options
