Free access to Uni networks? (was Re: [MLB-WIRELESS] Swinburne's Wireless Network)

This too, would be my immediate reaction.  Thinking
about it more I'm not sure that it has to be a large
administrative burden.  For example, if the uni is already
running a VPN over the wireless intranet, wouldn't non-VPN traffic
be automatically confined to the wireless network, as the only
way out is through the VPN?  Some of the things I'm hoping to
come out of this discussion are:

1) How big an administative task would such a scheme
   *REALLY* be?
2) What techniques could be used to reduce administration
   to as close as zero as possible?
3) What would be the best way to set such a scheme up?

I am not an expert in system administration, so I can't
speak with authority on these questions.
