A reminder that this Saturday is the first Melbourne Wireless installfest
and antenna field day at Strathcona Girls Baptist Grammar School,
Camberwell. The day is held alongside the Linux Users of Victoria's
installfest.

* Hack an antenna. Parts will be available for anyone hacking a cantenna, so
just bring a can. Help is on hand for people attempting a homebrew omni or
hacking a Galaxy antenna.
* Hack an access point. Get it working and test it in a real-life
environment. Support will be at hand for Linux, BSD and Windows-based APs.
* Play with new technology. Have a go at VoIP, OSPF, streaming video, ipsec,
or any other protocol that has wireless applications or potential.
* See what people are doing to get their wireless nodes live.

The day runs from 10am to 4pm. Bring whatever you want, but label all the
bits clearly with your name. If you are bringing a notebook or desktop
computer, include power and network cables, monitors, network cables, mouse
and so on.

A working 22Mbps access point and antenna-testing equipment will be on-site.
Equipment - including cards, pigtails, n-connectors and cable - will be for
sale for those wanting cheap gear.
