I suggest the new park in Northcote, behind the Northcote Plaza 
shopping centre, cr Separation St and High St.  It's pretty much 
highest point of the local geography, and they've built a pretty big 
hill in the middle of the park.  Should get very good LOS to the 
north and west, south as far as the city, and west at least as far as 
Kew/ Hawthorn.

Or the Rialto tower viewing deck :-)
