Not really control freakery as trying very hard not to piss off anyone
else who might want to sue us, which is funny given that "we" don't
actually exist yet.

Me neither, but I presume people who sell these things for a profit WILL
care and put a stop to it, so it's better to head this off at the pass,
as it were.

I'm thinking of potential legal hassles, I could care less what people
do with the stuff, other than hook it into our network :)

Our being sued out of existence by people whose business we have damaged
might retard the growth of public-domain wireless networking.

But, on re-reading over what Steven wrote, this has Enterasys' backing
so I guess it's their hassle, not ours, so I'm all in favour of it. I
was in favour of it to start with, remember, I was just concerned about
possible hassles.
