Subject: [Syd-Wireless] Fund raising...

Heya syd-wireless,

Ok 2 up coming events, a separate email containing details about
paintball is still being finalised, it penciled in for the 7th of
  September.

We need a list of possible prizes, please email me sensible
  suggestions to fundraising at sydneywireless.com
We're limited in budget to about $40 worth of stuff, potentially
  divided between multiple people...

Updated information can be found at:
     http://www.nodedb.com/wiki/index.php?WarDriving%20Competitions

On the 24th of August we will be holding a friendly war driving comp
  as a fund raiser...

Cost:
$5pp (max 4 people per team)

When:
1pm until 4pm, 24th of August, roll call at 1pm sharp.

Where:
Start and Finish location will be Moore Park Supa Centre Carpark...
Close to the city, yet also close to expressways and free parking to
get everyone ready to head off etc...

Rules:
There won't be any $10,000 prizes and more then likely I can count
50 ways to cheat, but please don't, this is a friendly social
  competition....

WarDriving teams will consist of up to four members.
Teams are responsible for providing their own equipment
You will be able to register between 12:30pm to 1pm
If you don't have a full team, we will assign you to a team
on so you can still participate.
WarDrive Roll Call will take place at exactly 1pm sharp.
ALL team members must be present for Roll Call.

All federal, state and local laws (to include traffic laws) must be
  obeyed.

In the interests of reducing cheating, for an AP to be counted it
has to be found by at least 2 teams...

At the conclusion of the WarDrive, each team will submit their data to
the contest judges in wi-scan/wl-scan format.

AP data accepted only. Ad Hoc connections won't be counted in the
results.

Scoring:

Each team will be scored by the following criteria:
points per AP = 6/n, where n = number of people who found it.
  2 additional points for GPS long/lat co-ords
2 additional points for an AP that has a default SSID and WEP disabled

5 points per minute subtracted after 4pm, with loss of all points by
  4:30pm

Team with the most points wins.

Prizes:
Each member of the winning team will get <to be announced>
There will also be a prize for the team that found the most unique
AP's including their GPS co-ords that no one else discovered.

Judging:
Open source PHP script will be written and all data files fed into
it, with results to be online.

Misc:
All questions, comments and suggestions to be sent to
  fundraising at sydneywireless.com
