I'm assuming you want to make short fly leads? In that case, LMR400 or
equivalent isn't that practical (too thick 10mm, too stiff, large bend
radius etc). The only other options are RG316 which is quite thin (around
3-4mm I think), and is about as good as you can get in less than 'garden
hose' sized cable for 2-3GHz. RG174 is similar, but not as good. I have
some short lengths of RG174 you can have if you want. What kind of
connectors do you want to use?

okay then,  does anyone know of a supplier in the eastern suburbs where I
could grab a metre or two of LMR-400?
I've rung around a few local places enquiring about connectors for LMR-600
and I found most hadn't even heard of LMR cable :\

There's an interesting notation on that site that will affect anyone using
RG-213.  It says...

"The attenuation of cables with Bare Copper and Tinned Copper outer
conductors can vary substantially from the theoretical value due to
oxidation and therefore we recommend they not be used above 1 GHz. Note:
the
outer conductor of LMR cables is the aluminum tape."

Conclusion:  RG-213 is not really well suited to use at 2.4 GHz, and if
used, should only be used indoors, as weathering will increase the risk of
oxidation.

LMR series cables don't have this problem.
