I think that any domain name that the group uses must be owned by the group,
not an individual. Just my 2c.

Yes, there is a domain shift for Melbourne Wireless, but as far as I
know it is only the Internet namespace which wireless.org.au is being
used for.

cw.net.au has been paid for by me and donated to the wireless
community. Any reasonable request for use of the namespace within basic
common sense guidelines (no commercial names, hosts are allocated
withing the relevant region, etc) will be honored.

The idea is that we create a national namespace which is common over all
regions, so that if any of the regions interconnect or if Internet
connectivity ever occurs, the cw.net.au namespace can be used.

Another advantage is that it's relativly short, and that any other
internal system can sit ontop of it thanks to the ability to use search
domains in the DNS config.
