[MLB-WIRELESS] IP Addressing

Now I don't want to turn this into another silly debate over IP6/IP4 and
Internet routable IP's, etc....

I'm trying to decide what IP range to setup my AP for.

Now these are the options for Melb-wireless...

Class A	10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
Class B	172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
Class C	192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

I'm thinking it might be good to stay out of the Class C range simply due to
the fact that a lot of people use this on their own internal networks. And
who knows we may even outgrow the range. So that leaves us with the Class A
or Class B ranges. (and lets be honest, a class A or B range just looks a
darn bit fancier)

Can we make a decision either online (as it's a fairly simple one unless
there are issues i'm unaware of), or make a decision at the next meeting.

I just noticed we've got some weird/differing address on the IP Allocation
Wiki page at the moment.

http://www.wireless.org.au/wiki/?AllocationOfIPNumbers

 Lilydale NodeBDJ: 203.30.83.120/29
 Warranwood NodeBEA?: 203.30.83.48/28
 Warrandyte NodeDIH: 203.44.46.128/26
 Wantirna-AP1 NodeEEH: Undisclosed
 Collingwood NodeBCG: 192.168.1.1

Can you guys explain the use of the 203.*.*.* range to me? I not an expert
on IP addressing but it looks like you guys have bagged yourselves a few
public addresses.

And NodeBCG worries me just because it's the 192.168.*.* range which is of
course common on home LAN's.

I'm currently running my AP on a Class C(172) range.

And i beg of you, please don't bring up IPv6 or the issue of an Internet
routable address range because I warn you now I WILL resort to abuse,
namecalling, jokes about your mother etc. And no I am not kidding.
