Hi Adrian,

I now also have a node up and running as of yesterday, on the bench top only
at this stage.

I am looking at putting the unit into a weatherproof enclosure up on the
rooftop and running the cat5 & 12v to it. I'm running a Alloy WL-1450 unit.

It's a lower power 50mW access point.

www.techno.net.au/wireless/wl1450.htm for details.

It should cover a large area bulleen, templestowe area and the local lower
plenty rd region of Viewbank, whenit goes up higher.

Ernie

Hi all,

Last night I got the wireless stuff working at work in Warranwood
(Fernhill Technology in the node map). Again, this is with a D-Link
DWL-650. Range isn't amazing since there's no external antenna, but it
should be enough to supply bandwidth to the pizza shop downstairs if they
want it (legalities aside, dammit).

Anyone in Warranwood want to play?

Question: if I did want to run a link to someone else on an external
antenna is it reasonable to run both local access and the long haul link
off the same card with two antennas?
