I think you are referring to the calculation in that article where they talk
about the antenna having a gain of 10, and then use that to multiply the
input power to get the output power - is that correct?

If so, then you've fallen for the 2*2 = 2+2 problem :-)  10dB gain IS a 10x
multiplier, but that's the only point on the entire log scale where it is
(by very definition :-)

20dB is 100x the input, 30dB is 1000x the input, and so on.
