Yep I've been having trouble with that one. And the indoor range isn't
good for the AP. But I do have plenty of walls here. Thick walls.

|Just the one off the US web site - what sort of range are you getting?

|Robbie,
|
|I've been using a DWL-65 with XP for a week or two now. Which
|driver did you use for the Dlink? I tried the one avaialbel on
|their website that is an XP release but it hasn't worked so
|far. And yes setting the parameters of the card has been
|disabled to but a few settings.
|
|Solution? I rolled back to version 1.32. This brings back the
|old patrameter settings for keys, etc. But it looks like the
|native XP support for 802.11b isn't fucntioning. But hey it
|works anyway. I'm still waiting for Dlink to release more on
|their XP drivers.
|
|Meanwhile, I have no solution ot your range problems ;-)

||Having recovered from the third degree burns suffered after I
||inadvertently posted using HTML I have summoned up the courage to try
||my virgin post again.
||
||I have joined the wireless community using a 3COM Home
|Connect AP and a
||Dlink DWL-650 card in my laptop.
||
||Two dramas I am having - I can only get about ten metres range out of
||them - even if I move the AP to outside away from any stray
|RF. (I have
||flashed the AP with the latest drivers)
||
||The other is I cannot get the DWL-650's setup program to run
|under XP.
||Luckily XP took over and set it up for me but I want to be able to
||change settings, keys etc.
||
||P.S. Any nodes in the Briar Hill (Greensborough) area
