I actually reckon it's a Good Thing, now telstra and their greedy mates have a
different technology to use rather than crowding out "our" 2.4ghz ISM.
Let 'em have 10Ghz-66Ghz.
It's a prick of a wavelength to use - high absorption losses, even more fiddly
connectors, components, antennas (well, feedhorns really)... etc.
We'll just stay on 11 mbps, mop up the cheap stock, build our human-friendly
2.4ghz amp/preamps and beat the system :)
One always sees new tech as 'required' - everyone wants the latest and greatest,
but this stuff will be big $$$.
Telcos will buy into it, users will buy transceivers, stuff will filter down,
etc. Then it'll be useful for people like us. Film at 11.
