[MLB-WIRELESS] propaganda squad

Yep, I agree,

Leave the big corps out of it, and it will remain free.

I think that we, if we want to make a real difference and have a social
impact, we should offer this to chruches, clubs, community groups,
community centers (senior citizens etc..), play groups (nanny cam...
Etc...) charities, low income home users, disadvantaged
primary/secondary schools...etc. With this impetus, we could convince
braksie and several other pollies to give us some funding AS A NON PROF
ORG.. And we should be "A" for Away...

I will volunteer for any of this stuff as I have some people "links" in
a couple of govt depts and this *could* (if not, hey, I break his door
down... :) ) lead us to Steve Bracks, and possibility Senator Alston,
(an associate of mine, has links to him).. Im not bragging but we need
all the help we can get IF we are to do something like this.. The more
links the merrier..

The obvious side effect is that we have a wireless network (once in
place) that is a public access network, that offers transmission for
free, could not ask for more than that.

If we hit this niche, I don't think that we would have any problems in
getting bandwidth from UNI's or even OPTUS/Telstra as part of their
social charter....

I reckon this is gaining momentum, if we have some serious interest, why
don't we agree to meet (In melbourne at this stage) and at the very
least have a coffee and discuss the probability of this thing MAYBEE
getting off the ground..

What does everyone think ???

Frank

+i dont know about big corporations, because as soon as they
+get involved, it's not going to be free anymore. i agree that
+uni's and other community groups or organizations could be a
+big benefit though. so are you volunteering to get some
+partnerships going? ;)
