Elmore is on a very large flat plain.  There's not much elevated ground
around in the area.  Some hills to the south (10's of km), north is dead
flat well into NSW.  Being north of the Great Dividing Range, connectivity
from Melbourne would have to be multihop (Anyone fancy camping on top of Mt
Macedon - and another hill somewhat closer for the next hop? ;) ).

Hmm, pity we don't know someone near town with a DSL connection and a large
windmill tower. ;-)
