I don't know. It's bullshit, I guess that's business though. And depends
how technical you want to get, or what kinda network you want setup..you
can save a hell of a lot if you do the connectors and cables then use linux
as an AP and get the cards and ex galaxy ants locally, pascoe vale/coburg
area has HEAPS of them, I went for a skate around just the other day and
saw at least 10..I saw some big arse ones too, these black satelites..they
were pointed towards tassie? . . but my experience with international orders
has been terrrrible so far, really unimpressed. I bought a wireless nic
of ebay... I'm still hoping one day it will get here!. Ebay and other international
places can have bargins, but they try and get you with the shipping costs.

For people that are looking for cards and cable in Australia I highly recommend
x.net.au, they seem to be the cheapest in Australia, and it only took 2 days
to deliver my orders.

Why is wireless gear so expensive here? I just bought an RG-1000 starter kit
(RG-1000 + silver card) for $USD189. Unfortunately delivery costs can be a
killer if you are impatient (like me) and want it in less than a week, fedex
took $USD57 for international economy. This is about $AUD500 which is still
$100 cheaper than anything I've seen here.

Darren
