Thanks for the info guys,<br>
its actually not as expensive as i thought it was going to be.<br>
seems that after you dish out $400 for the card its $50 a month with a
500MB limit...<br>
modems are only any good if you have phone lines, and i was hoping for
a little more mobility than that. At this price its almost tempting,
but not quite. I think I'll be sticking to hunting for phone lines for
a while yet.<br>

iirc, they're 38.4Kbps, and pretty much work anywhere you can use a phone
(if that cell supports GPRS)...
Apart from the $$$,$$$,$$$ you'll spend per Gb, not too bad - but if you
need access at certain areas, a dialup modem is quicker, and a ton cheaper
- even if you have to dial STD...

It's Vodafone Mobile Connect. (aka gprs internet via pcmcia card)....
bascially its a card you plug into your laptop and it gives you internet
access (at hidious prices)
has anyone played with this? does it work as advertised?
