<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I've been talking to a number of members of
parliament about Melbourne Wireless Inc and general 802.11 laws etc, and the
matter of using 802.11a outdoors was raised... I informed the member in question
that 802.11a was illegal to use outdoors under the current rules... We had a
quick discussion why this was so, and I've been asked to write up a quick report
on why 802.11a should be allowed to be used outdoors, and what the exact details
are....</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm kinda pushed for time at the moment, so I was
wondering if I could get you guys to find some details for me....</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>1) What is the frequency range of 802.11a
equipment?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>2) What is the allowed 5Ghz frequency range for
outdoors?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>3) What is around the 802.11a frequency
range?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>4) What is the ACA regulation showing this? (Act

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Please reply to the list, as I'm going to formulate
my response based on everyone's input...</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thanks in advance - hopefully we can get 802.11a
approved for outdoors use! :)</FONT></DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>
