While we're on the subject of allocating IP numbers. Has anyone got a DNS operational anywhere yet? My node will probably be up on a casual basis heading towards almost full time (kinda sorta depends) in a few weeks even if there's not much to link to yet (if you build it they will come attitude). I'm not much of a DNS admin (but hey, it couldn't be that hard could it?) so is there someone who would want to setup and run a DNS for melbwireless? Once the DNS is running then requests for IP allocation could be made to whoever took it upon themselves to run it, as it stands it seems since nobody is personally in charge or responsible then the way to get allocated an IP number is to say "I'm going to use x.x.x.x, any objections?" Is there a freeware linux type thing available for an instant messaging server? I'd like to put something online that would let you know who else was connected.
