Has anyone tried to contact any of the local councils about help with the wireless infrastructure? The reason I ask is that there are a number of Town Halls around, sometimes with a highish clock tower associated with them. The ones that spring to mind immediately are the Collingwood and Fitzroy town halls. Both run by the same council and both with good LOS to a bunch of stuff. Would people be interested in contributing cash to purchase the expensive bits of an AP in say Collingwood Town Hall? Does anyone have any idea about who you'd contact in the council about this, theres an election coming up in Yarra City (I think, was something in the letterbox I recycled yesteday) it could be a good time to at least ask for space and a power point.
