[MLB-WIRELESS] Obtaining test equipment to find nodes

Hi,

I am interested in setting up a node at KCT. The information in the map
and locally connected nodes indicates there are a few places for me to
connect to. However discussions so far indicate that some of those are
not running, or aren't connected to the Melbourne Wireless mesh. I
don't know enough about the land fall to know what I can connect to either.

Is it possible to obtain some equipment to test what wireless networks
are actually available. With the speed wireless technology is
progressing, I don't really want to purchase any equipment until I have
some idea of what I need to connect to the network. Especially at a
rental property where I'm trying to minimize the visual impact of an
antenna. If it's possible to get away with a smaller flat panel
antenna, I'd like to be able to do that.

So if anybody has any ideas on who I can talk to about either lending me
some equipment, or coming to visit me for a site survey it would be most
appreciated.

Thanks again

Russell
