That's right.  Did Steve Leibman tell us to be alert and not alarmed, or was
he just telling us how to "duck and cover" in case of a terrorist attack?

Don't get me started about terrorism.  We clearly are in the grip of a moral
panic not seen since the days of McCarthyism and "Reds under the beds".

Here in Australia it seems to be accepted by everybody that you're
responsible for what happens if someone abuses your open Internet-connected
WiFi access point.  This issue has come up in Germany and the wireless group
FreiFunk.net in Berlin is actually demanding that legal protections be given
to non-commercial groups so they are not held responsible for what third
parties do with their free internet APs.  I bet such a measure would have
wide support in German society, too.

Are Germans worried about terrorists using their networks?  Doesn't look
like it.  Then again, they're not involved in invading Iraq or sucking up to
George Bush, either. :)
