Dear Melbourne Wireless Member,

Our next General Meeting, the first for 2006, is being held at:

7pm, Friday 10th February

This year we aim to breathe new life into our General Meetings.  At our
meetings this year we will have:

* A presentation on a wireless topic at every meeting
* Specialised workshops to introduce newcomers to Melbourne Wireless, to
give technical advice and guide them through the process of setting up a
node.
* Swap Meets.  Members are encouraged to bring along their under-utilised
wireless equipment such as WiFi cards and Access Points, cables and
antennas, and sell or trade them at the meeting.

We value your feedback on all aspects of Melbourne Wireless.  If you have
any suggestions about how Melbourne Wireless could be improved, please send
an email to committee at wireless.org.au.

Also, please consider joining the Melbourne Wireless mailing list.  On this
the general membership discusses anything to do with Melbourne Wireless, the
network, node building and general technical issues.  The sign-up page is

At the next General Meeting we will be voting on a "Special Resolution" to
change the Rules of the Association, currently known as the "Model Rules".
We are required to give notice of this Special General Meeting to all
Members, 21 days prior to it being held.  The Special General Meeting will
take place as part of General Meeting.

This is official notice of a Special General Meeting of Melbourne Wireless
Incorporated to be held at 8pm on Friday 10th February 2006 at the Hawthorn
Scout Hall.

Business to be conducted at the Special General Meeting:

Special Resolution to amend the Rules of the Association Melbourne Wireless
Incorporated.

Summary of Changes

1.
Adopt July 2004 version of Model Rules

2.
Change Name

Remove Consumer Affairs Victoria Schedule and Model Rules titles and text,
replace with:

Rules
Of the
Association
Melbourne Wireless Incorporated

In Section 1 - Name, Change Name to:
"The name of the incorporated association is Melbourne Wireless Incorporated
(in these Rules called "the Association")."

3.
Change Financial Year

In Section 2 - Definitions, change definition of "financial year" from
"means the year ending on 30 June"
to "means the year ending on 31 December"

4.
Increase number of Ordinary Members of the Committee
Change Section 20 - Committee of Management, Paragraph 3, subparagraph b
from "two ordinary members"
to "four ordinary members"
