Node GHO is now fully operational.
See the wiki pages for details... There are some pics and info on
http://dev.natwide.com.au/wireless/NodeGHO.htm.
Just to clarify the interfaces and their purpose...
The Vertical interface (ssid: GHO-Mobile) is intended for general leaf
node access for those within approx 10-15km, and possibly for mobile
nodes. Aslong as it is not abused it will remain 'open' access.
The North (ssid: GHO-North) and South (ssid: GHO-South) panels will be
locked down to specific nodes soon, once we determine the current setup
is stable. Tentatively, the criteria for connecting to these interfaces
is as follows...
- you must be a routing node. Ie. That you have atleast one other
interface providing connectivity to other nodes.
- you must be running OSPF.
- nodes close to other gho connected nodes will not be accepted...
Unless they are providing significant connectivity to other nodes, or
have no alternate connectivity options. Ie... Don't ask to connect to
gho when the guy next door is already connected!
At this point the primary aim is to connect as many of the 'clusters' of
nodes around melbourne, so priority will be given to the nodes that will
facilitate this.
Once again I'd like to thank Dan for providing some critical gear at
last minute, and for the router configuration :) , Juzley for doing the
bulk of the roof mounting and mastmount box fitout, Vasko for help with
tails and terminations and safety gear, plus a bunch of other people who
have helped along the way.
