It was mentioned but in brief passing, i think one of the things that was
talked about was how the system was going to be setup ie a dish for
listening and a dish for transmiting... The discussion pretty much focused
on the wiki page, location with a indepth study of the fresnel zone, while
refering to the diagram on the wiki page. I belive the gain was also
discussed and how the sensitivity of the veritechs may not be enough, unless
really large rx dishes were used, and then the issue of pointing a large
dish on a 3 metre pole arose (step motors were mentioned, as was the
accuracy of under >0.5 of a degree) It was suggested that the dishes be
lined up by utilising ham radio equpment in the 2.4Ghz range (correct me if
i am wrong) and then tests be perforemed. Scripts for the timing were also
mentioned.
Timing for the attempt was suggested to be closer to summer as to avoid
excess ammounts of moisture in the air. The current record was apparently
over a desert to minimise this problem.
Talk of a trial run ie Mt Macedon to GHO was mentioned ...amongst a few
other places ....to validate the equipment
Thats about all i can remember off the top of my head :)
cheers
