[MLB-WIRELESS] bouncing off a survey marker on top of a hill?

I'm wondering if it's feasible to passively bounce 802.11 off one of
these:

This was taken at Gellibrand Hill near the airport. I think it's some sort
of survey marker; presumably that's the highest point of the hill. There's
another hill near my new home that I can see along an easement (actually a
dedicated water tank access road), although I haven't actually checked
recently to see if the marker itself is visible from my block.

Just a wild idea which popped into my head, I'll have a double storey
place on the south side of my place so perhaps I could bounce off that
thing to reach further south. :)

Cheers.
