The command line is also heaps leaner. The perl overheads are painful on a
really low end router machine. I tried using it on a 486 with only 16M RAM
and it was useless. In comparison, ssh + jed is much more usable.

However, for a more grunty machine with bucket loads of services to
configure, it's damn nice.
