or save yourself some pain and don't... :-)

serious networker hat now...

routing in adhoc networks has been done to death with no resolution in site.
But we are not really building an adhoc network are we? we are building a
ifxed but somewhat variable network rather like the real internet. With
likely heaps of local mobile wireless adhoc but (and this is important) edge
of the network disconnections and reconnections.

worry about the core of the network. the edges should take care of themselves
(with a bit of help of course) With out a core, there is no network.

Now, having said that, we should not confine ourselves to the extended star
network so common on the internet. besides, wireless is inherently confined
in a physical envelope. even with perfect line of sight and good antennas,
data rate and distance have an inverse squared relationship. want to go twice
as far? either 1/4 the rate or have an intermediate repeater and suffer twice
or more delay time.

also we are sharing with everybody. so speak quietly but get a big arse
antenna!!!

OSPF should be just fine... so if that is what you are thinking of and the
"value" of the network you are talking about is the factors in the OSPF
implementation,. then fine... otherwise... huh?
