[MLB-WIRELESS] correct method of antenna connection

Hi,

A basic question regarding connection of antenna to to an AP with co 
phased <twin> antenna's on rear. Would i simply remove one of the 
standard rubber stub antenna's and connect the homebrew to the panel 
connector and run it in parallel with the remaining stub or remove the 
2nd antenna etc?. What are the ramifications of a mismatch in SWR or no 
load on one antenna jack? I'm experienced with HF/UHF tranceivers <'80's 
CB'r> but 2.4G  is a bit of a learning curve for me at the moment.
