[MLB-WIRELESS] Problem with DI-714P+

On the weekend I installed a D-Link DI-714P+ wireless router in my
parents' office, along with DWL-520+s in the two computers there (98SE
and XP). Both yesterday morning and this morning the wireless
connection hasn't worked when the computers were turned on again. I
have the DHCP lease time set to 1 day.

Since I have a D-Link DSL-300 hanging off the WAN port of the router,
which can't be changed from 192.168.0.1, I've set the IP address of the
router to 10.0.0.1. Yesterday morning, when trying to diagnose the
problem, I found I couldn't access the router on either 10.0.0.1 or
192.168.0.1 with a wired connection, so I had to do a reset to factory
defaults.

This morning the router wasn't inaccessible but the wireless network
still wasn't working. On the DHCP page there were entries for the two
wireless cards (and the Ethernet card from which I was checking this).
One of these had a time in the future -- is this time meant to be the
time it was leased or the expiry time?

Anyway, neither computer could discover the wireless network. All the
right ESSID/WEP/Channel settings where in the clients and the router.
Only when I rebooted the router could the wireless network be found
again, and the clients got their IP addresses.

I did upgrade the firmware to the latest version on the weekend.

Anybody got any clues?

Thanks,

Cameron
