which is why serious party balloons are aluminised.  similarly weather 
ballons, etc.

it really depends on how long you want it to stay aloft.  a few days should be 
no hassles for a small balloon with moderate weight requirements.

(aside; if you put it up near HV powerlines, you should be able to get the 
power for free if you set up a scavenger circuit to feed off the RF...  On 
the other hand, balloon near HV wires... * I wasn't thinking _that_ close...)
