Not read it all, but it sounds like where you want to start. Shoutcast and
Icecast I think are apps designed to do what you want to do.

What would be involved in streaming audio over my wifi connection.
This is just a question in theory, I know I can just read MP3 files from the
serving computer but I was just interested in the mechanics of streaming
audio.
