[MLB-WIRELESS] SVEC AP as a MW Public Access Point

Talking about omnis, I'm finding it hard to get 1 inch brass tube for the
decoupler part of my omni that I plan to use to stomp all over Ryans 180
degree waveguide signal with. Will copper or aluminium do? I guess copper
will be ok, but thicker.....

Regards,

I would recommend before you do anything you contact others in your area
and suss out if there is any existing infrastructure or if anyone has
already developed some plans. (good work if you already have done this)

Begin Token Ryan Rant here--->
There is no use in every Joe Bloggs putting up his own SVEC AP and Omni,
you end up with 3 square kilometres full of RF noise caused by the 6
different AP's that people have put up. And of course nobody is using these
AP's because they are too busy setting up their own AP to contribute to the
disorganised mess.

On another note, "Omni" antennas, very over-rated and more often than not,
unjustifiable. Panel and Waveguide antennas that allow you to control your
signal's beam are a much better choice as with the limited available RF
space that wireless equipment uses, you can manage your signal coverage.
For example, why push out a 360 degree signal, when you could push out
180degree's and cover one area, and a friend 500m away could push out
140degrees from a panel and cover a separate area, and you link the two
together on a Point-to-Point link using that 3rd unused channel. This way
you've practically doubled your available bandwidth in the area as a whole.
<--------end rant.
